have been sewing, cycling, cooking and working. Doesn't sound like much but time has flown by.

I bought a fabulous dress off ebay (this one) with a circle skirt and thought I'd make a petticoat to go underneath it. I looked at the prices and thought I could make it cheaper.

The tulle was cheaper but oh my god I don't think the work put in justifies me ever making one myself again. I am currently stitching (ok, by machine, not by hand) together 12 bits of 25X400cm fabric to give me a length of net 48m long, and I then have to gather that and stitch it onto a circle with a circumference of 16m. Oh and bind one of the long edges in satin to make it look nice.

My conclusion is that it might be slightly cheaper to make one yourself, but save your sanity and buy one. I haven't bought one from this seller yet, but I am going to in the future. Her eBay feedback is positive and the photos look great.
