It's like losing your virginity all over again. Well, it is for me. You lot think what you like!
when you begin a relationship with someone you get bombarded with so many new things; from books to music, cinema to cuisine, most good, some bad. It's nice to get introduced to new experiences, but after a while you yearn to go back to the way things were and start to experience things for yourself (again). I have Ian to thank for my love of Tim Buckley (and therefore Jeff) and Love, and Rich for Kroke, DJ Shadow, and Martin Herbert.
I'm nearly 40. My love of dance and pop music isn't going anywhere and I don't care who knows it. I don't think I'd be happier if all I had to listen to was radio 1 for the rest of my life. I'm rediscovering what gets me hot in music circles, having been inspired by the old git* at work who listens to Kiss FM whenever possible. I've downloaded the following today:
The Hoosiers - Goodbye Mr A (It's ELO-tastic)
The Ting Tings - Great DJ
Sam Sparro - Black and Gold
Estelle & Kanye - American Boy (but it was a close call between this and Somerset Boy)
Pendulum - Propane Nightmares, Blood Sugar, Hold Your Colour, Masochist (Moi? Shurely shome mishatake)
Pendulum supported DJ Shadow when Rich and I saw him earlier this year at the O2, but he wasn't keen and we only caught the end of the set, I wish now we'd got there earlier.
* He's not. Far from it. He inspires me more than he realises.

It's *Matthew* Herbert actually.
:-)
Oh yeah.
Thanks! xxxx
